Corporate DS/IM/25 Isle of Man; Local Government Board; 1894-1986 Local Government Board Isle of Man 1894-1986 Established under the Local Government Amendment Act 1894, with the Lieutenant Governor presiding over the Board. The Board's initial focus was on public health including powers of inspection and regulatory enforcement (from 1897), but later functions included public housing and development projects (1946 onwards) and town and country planning (varying levels of responsibility from 1916 onwards).
